Music
As a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Onyi has collaborated with an array of celebrated artists, composers, collectives, and productions across genres and cultures. Her performance and recording credits include work with Grammy Award winners Lazaro Galarraga, Angel Luis Figueroa, and Magatte Fall; Grammy-nominated artist Rocky Dawuni; as well as Amen Santo, L’esprit d’Afrique, Gaby Hernandez, Viver Brasil Dance Company, Tristan de Liège, Batu Sener, George Kallis, and Goddess Black. In addition to these collaborations, she has independently produced and performed her own concerts and original music releases.

Onyi was the focus of the documentary ONYI: The Path to Finding Me (produced by Girls’ Voices Now), which explores self-image, authenticity, and the power of embracing one’s true self in a world of unrealistic beauty standards. She played a leading role in the award-winning short film Wade in the Water (written and directed by David Bianchi), and has appeared in the web series The Mels (by Kharmony Fortune) and Food Relay (by Paige Murtaugh).
