What They’re Saying

Ana Maria, founder of Contra-Tiempo dance theater company, on working with Onyi during the LA premier of their work ¡Azucar!

Onyi designed a series of musical notes, sounds and song elements — on the spot in studio — for an extremely unique theatrical production. Her interpretation skills with story were perfectly matched with an exquisite knowledge of her own vocal instrument. She was asked to help with musical sounds for an original and imaginary environment of supreme beings, one that has no real description - and she was able to do so.
