April 2025 Newsletter

Greetings Beautiful Ones!

Sending you all sweetness and praying you are finding “big” and “small” ways to ground in your peace and the authentic piece you are in this puzzle called Existence.

April—my birthday month—arrived not with the typical fanfare of celebration, but with a quieter kind of call: a call to reflect, refocus, and refine. As I peer ahead, I see that my Solar Return falls on a day within one of the Ifá calendars of my lineage—the Adésànyà Awóyadé lineage of Òdè Rẹ́mọ, Ògùn State, Nigeria—when we honor Ọbàtálá, Èṣù, Egúngún, and others. This day also coincides with a New Moon. All of it feels deeply aligned as I consider the energies each brings: organization, mental clarity, and higher perspective; choices, crossroads, and change; remembering, learning from, and building upon who (and what) came before; new beginnings, inner reflection, energetic reset, subtle power—and more.

Lately, I’ve found myself in deep inquiry about my work and the way I’ve been moving through it. The truth is, I’ve asked myself some hard questions—about sustainability, about the weight I’ve been carrying, and about whether I can continue offering my medicine in the ways I have been. And Spirit’s response has not been what I expected—but by now, I know better =).

The ritual I've been given is not one of expansion or reinvention, but one of digital cleanup (Ògún yè! Modúpẹ́ 🙏🏾)*. Of tending to my website, but from a different angle. Of sorting through the online spaces I’ve created even more deeply… like meta-data deep. At first, it felt mundane—tedious, even. But as I moved through it, something opened up, as is the case with any type of ritual, regardless of the steps, environments, and tools/helpers. I remembered who I’ve been. What I’ve created. Who I’ve supported. The ways this work has moved and touched lives since my 15-year career in corporate America stepped away from me in 2018, creating space for me to let go of the idea of who I thought I was. And today, I continue the release, which also includes the persona(s) I’ve cultivated since that leap (or, rather, that divine push!).

Doing this form of cleanup has helped me release that ever-whispering belief that I’m not doing enough. And in that release, I’ve begun to sense the quiet stirrings of something new. Not a reinvention, but a return to simplicity. A reorientation toward what truly sustains and supports me. I’m having to come to terms with the ways I’ve blocked my blessing in light of the direction I was focusing my attention.

This month, as always, I’m honoring the wisdom of the unseen. I’m listening. Deepening in my trust. Continuing to clean house, inside and out. I invite you to do the same, and to really sit with what it is you’ve ignored, avoided, explained away, swept under the rug, or in other ways not given the attention it requires… or given more attention than was necessary. What needs to be cleared? What deserves to be honored? What has already been accomplished that you haven’t paused to celebrate?

We are living through times of chaos and contention—and yet beauty, blessing, and joy still rise. But that is the case with all times, whenever they occur on this merry-go-spiral we get to ride called Life. There is nothing “new” under the sun except for how we perceive what is. I pray we choose perspectives that help us to give birth to the true versions of ourselves with surrender and more ease.

Mouse In The House, Part 1

The first blog in a 3-part series about my encounters with this tiny teacher. Some of you may remember this story from the past. During my digital cleanup, I came across a 2-year-old draft and was reminded of that comical mouse encounter I previously shared. I decided to give it new life! Enjoy, and stay tuned for the next installments—April 22 and May 6.
