Greetings Beautiful Ones!

Welcome June! A very happy birthday month to my father—a man who has modeled so many beautiful expressions and lessons around masculinity, manhood, dignity, excellence, provision, creativity, and more. I pray immense and full-spectrum blessings into all areas of his life. I also wish all fathers a Happy Father’s Day—a holiday on the 16th of this month for those of us in the U.S. May you embody the courage and extend the will to show up for the connection, love, holding, and healing that you desire. You get to experience all of it.

As we in the Northern Hemisphere approach summer, I encourage all of us—wherever we are on this magnificent Earth—to allow the brilliant and unique light of our true selves to shine through. From my perspective, this is the most powerful way to not only navigate but alchemize the energies of these times.

June is the 6th month of the Gregorian calendar, and the number 6 is connected to the Òrìṣà Ṣàngó (also spelled Shango, Chango, or Xango across the diaspora). Káàwọ́! Kabiyesi ooo! This call honors Ṣàngó—a leader, advocate, justice seeker, and provider. He holds his head high, enjoys life, and knows he is the king—his decisions and words are final. As a fire-bringer and lightning wielder, he embodies illumination and alignment energy.

Consider his essence as you reflect on who you are, who you’ve been, and who you’d prefer to be.

When we move forward from the place of our authenticity, integrity, and trust, it transforms matter across space and time, regardless of how it is perceived or received on the surface. Our reactions to others have everything to do with our own beliefs about ourselves—both in general and in relation to the worlds we imagine are separate from us.

So let your light shine, baby. No—let it burn, sizzle, and scorch. And drink in the cleansing light of others. Allow what needs to come up to do so with compassion. Witness the experience of others with the same.

The only way through it is through it. Skirting around it has never worked—we are living in the aftermath of all that unaccountable behavior.

Remember your ability to learn—you wouldn’t be here if the opposite were true. And remember that your life is a lesson you came here to teach.
