Happy May!Happy new month, day, moment to all of you! I’m still sitting in the energy of my birthday—April 27th—and have actually decided to change things up by operating from a seasonal celebration, stewing, and simmering (Taurus season ends May 20th). Thank you to everyone that sent me birthday wishes, prayers, comments, texts, calls the day of my actual Solar Return; and to those who in other ways and alternative days provided such beautiful acknowledgement and nurturing. This year continues to bring an abundance of opportunities to release, integrate, and shift perspective about so much. Just recently—on Friday, May 5th (the day of the lunar eclipse in scorpio)—I was moving through situations and conversations that stirred up aggravation and annoyance within and outside of me. As I sat in my shrine room and conducted my sequence of prayers to Ìfá and the Oriṣa (after having the first set of triggering experiences), I could feel my energy begin to shift and re-ground. I then asked to be shown clearly what I needed to reflect on that day. At the end of my prayer time, I pulled from my go to deck (Osho Zen Tarot), and the Understanding card came up. I laughed at (and had a moment of petty dialogue in my mind about) how on point and direct the message was in that moment. The friction and tension from earlier that day was caused, in large part, by a lack of understanding on multiple sides. As soon as I settled into that recognition, the negative energy neutralized even further. For the remainder of the day I was slower to anger, more open to new solutions, and better able to move with compassion and empathy. Wow! Ask and you’ll be answered in ways that are ripe with transformative possibilities. I just love spirit.
